Most parents probably feel like kids just went back to school, yet winter break is here already. Everybody needs some downtime, but that does not mean it should turn into two weeks of staring at a screen. The first day of break is the perfect time to make an activity jar. Any sort of container will work, but it becomes a fun project when kids can decorate the container using stickers, glitter, or markers. Empty gift boxes or unused takeout food containers work well. Encourage kids to be creative with ideas for things they would like to do over winter break. Cut the activity ideas into small pieces of paper and fill the container. See the list of ideas below to help get your child started with activity ideas. One trip to the craft store could generate a week’s worth of activities!
